Moody Morning

Do It, Just Start Your Day!

I truly love the experience of camping, but I must admit that some mornings can be quite rough indeed. It’s cold and damp outside, and with no cell service to keep myself amused, the situation can feel a bit bleak. While some people might just pull the blanket over their head and snuggle back into sleep, my crazy (and sometimes overly adventurous) mind begins to wander toward what incredible shot I can find on this dreary morning. My mood stands in stark contrast to how it looks and feels outside, creating an interesting tension. So I quickly make myself a steaming cup of coffee and decide to head out into the wilderness. The moment I captured this beautiful scene, I was camping near Colorado Springs. When I drove down to the reservoir, the only things I could spot were the flashing lights from the snow plows working tirelessly on the top of Pikes Peak. As time went on, the light began to change dramatically. It was getting brighter and brighter, and the clouds were slowly lifting, revealing the beauty beneath. I could barely contain my excitement as I took in the sight of the clouds dancing across the top of the serene water. Rising and drifting gracefully, the morning fog was finally moving out, making way for a magnificent view. The sky above was lighting up in a way that filled me with hope. The cold and dreary mood of the morning was transforming into something magical. It was all the signs of the start of a truly great day ahead, and I couldn't wait to see what other wonders the day might hold.
